NALA’s Nairobi office will be used for operational components like partnership and customer support.
African payments company NALA has set up its headquarters in Nairobi, Kenya to host a third of the company’s staff.
The company also has a money transfer app that enables users to make payments from the UK and the United States to Africa in real-time.
The company which operates with a global remote workforce said the Nairobi-based office will be used for operational components like partnership and customer support. It will be under the leadership of NALA COO Nicolai Eddy.
Lately, Nairobi has attracted global tech giants who have set up their offices in the city. Nicolai said, “Establishing global headquarters in Nairobi puts NALA in the best position to succeed. Nairobi has become a global hotspot for entrepreneurship and innovation and provides us access to top-quality African talent. We hope to further fuel this ecosystem by providing jobs and facilitating more free-flowing capital to Kenya.”
The company has also partnered with Equity Bank to support Kenyans in the diaspora to send money home to their loved ones as well as for investments.

Robert Kiboti, Equity Head of Private Banking who spoke on behalf of Equity Bank Kenya’s Managing Director Gerald Warui commented that this partnership would help widen the geographical reach in the remittances segment.

Using fintech capabilities has given us a global presence, and as a result, we have become a major processor of remittances payments around the world including across currencies,” he stated.
