The German Government is offering DAAD Leadership for Africa Scholarships to interested and qualified Africans willing to pursue a postgraduate degree in German universities.

The DAAD Africa Scholarship is a fully-funded award offering successful candidates a 100% tuition waiver, an annual stipend of €11,208 as well as a monthly rent subsidy.

The scholarship also offers a monthly allowance for accompanying family members (spouse and/or children) as well as yearly study and travel allowances. Successful candidates also have the opportunity to learn the German Language for free during the first year of the programme.

In times of conflicts and displacement in various African countries, this programme intends to contribute to the education of future leaders, who will be essential for the further development of their home countries.

“Leadership for Africa” offers scholarships for Master’s studies in Germany to qualified applicants in all fields of study except for Medicine, Veterinary Medicine, Dentistry, Law, Fine Arts and Architecture.

All “Leadership for Africa” scholarship holders benefit from a complementary training programme in good governance, civil society and career development. The mandatory programme must be completed in addition to the regular studies.
