The first tweet from Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey sold for $2.9 million as an NFT

The primary tweet despatched by Twitter founder Jack Dorsey has been offered for $2.9 million to a Malaysian businessman, the CEO of the blockchain enterprise Bridge Oracle and is headquartered in Malaysia.

The tweet is within the type of a non-fungible token (NFT), a kind of one-of-a-kind digital asset that has gained a variety of traction in 2021.

Every NFT has its personal blockchain-based digital signature, which acts as a public ledger that anybody can use to confirm the asset’s authenticity and possession.

Dorsey’s first tweet, “simply establishing my twttr,” was despatched on March 21, 2006.

The ether cryptocurrency was used to buy the tweet.

The NFT was auctioned off on a web site known as Valuables, which is owned by Cent, a company headquartered in the USA.

Cameron Hejazi, the CEO of Cent, reported that it was bought with the cryptocurrency Ether for 1630.5825601 ETH, which was price $2,915,835.47 on the time of sale.

Dorsey will obtain 95% of the proceeds from the sale, whereas Cent will obtain 5%.

Mr. Dorsey acknowledged that the proceeds could be transformed to bitcoin after which donated to the Give Immediately Africa Response fund.
